In Insider updates recently, Microsoft has added 13 different color themes for Touch Keyboard. These themes also work in Voice Typing and Emoji Panel.
What’s more interesting about this new feature is that you can create custom color themes and save them. You can now create a color theme for Touch Keyboard by specifying the desired foreground and background colors, and save them.
New color theme options are in controlled release and not everyone inside has them. Luckily, we enabled it in our build and we’ll show you how to use it.

The latest update adds additional options in the Personalization section of the Settings app. From there, you can configure the theme for Touch Keyboard.
For now only Windows Insider users have access to this and it’s hard to say when it will come to the stable Windows 11 build.
How to Change Windows 11 Touch Keyboard Theme
Here’s how to change Touch Keyboard theme in Windows 11. If you are a Windows Insider user then you can get the theme for Touch Keyboard in Windows Insider Preview build 22504.
1. Open the app Settings and then go to section Personalization. If you have this new feature then you will see a new option here, which is: “Text input“.
2. Open “Text input” and here you will have 13+ color themes to choose from for Touch Keyboard. You can see this in the screenshot below.
3. Choose any theme and it will be applied immediately. And it applies themes to Emoji Panel, Touch Keyboard, and Voice Typing. You can see it in action in the first screenshot I added at the beginning.
4. Not only fixed color themes, but here you can also create, save and apply custom themes. For the background, you can use a color or you can use an image as well.
You can create as many custom themes for Touch Keyboard and apply them. It’s simple and very easy.
In this way, you can use Text input theme in Windows 11. This is one of the anticipated and very useful features on tablet devices and Surface Go.
Previously there were only system themes for input methods, but now you get 13 and the option to custom design which is very nice.
