In this article, I’m going to share about an app that lets you reverse the front and back camera while recording videos on Android, and the app I’m referring to is FlipCam Video Recorder.

FlipCam is an Android app that lets you switch cameras between front and back while recording videos. At the time of writing this article, this app is only available for users of Android devices. Hence, make sure the device you are using to run this app is running on Android OS.

This app is very useful whenever you are in a situation where you find it difficult to record your expressions during the event. Although some phones allow this as a built-in feature, it can take a few seconds before the camera flips over and resumes recording. In such cases, the FlipCam app can come in handy.

FlipCam is a free android app which integrates into your smartphone camera and lets you record through two cameras in one video. Although both the rear and front cameras can be used in one video, this app does not allow shooting with both cameras at the same time. In order to be able to swap front and back camera while recording video, Once you install the app, you will be asked to allow access to take pictures and record videos using your device. Click “allow“.

This app will also ask your permission to save videos and images recorded in the default app on the android device. Click “allow” to proceed further.

Next, for video recording purposes, the app will ask your permission to record audio on the device. Tap “allow‘ and started recording the video.

The app will instantly launch the video recording screen as default where you can click red button center to start recording video.

Once you start recording video and want to flip back camera to front camera, click on the icon “reverse camera” which is next to the record video icon. This action will reverse the camera and now your front camera will record a video as a continuation of the video recorded with the rear camera.

You can also pause the video between recordings to adjust the appearance of the shot object. Once recorded, you can view the recorded video, where you will see the rear camera recording for the object and the front camera recording the expressions in the same video.

FlipCam is a simple and easy application that facilitates recording from the front camera and rear camera in one video. Though this feature is available on some smartphones, if you don’t have this feature on your Android phone, you can use this FlipCam for the same.
