Here’s a complete guide on how to use Carl Bot on Discord. Carl bot is a multi-functional Discord bot that comes with various features from moderation control to permission management.

One of the popular and advanced features of this bot is Reaction roles. With the help of Reaction roles, you can allow users to choose their own roles or roles in Discord servers.

In tutorials Here, let’s understand how we can use the Carl bot to manage roles on Discord.

What are Discord’s Reaction roles?

By default, each user joins the role or Everyone role assigned to them. This makes it difficult to target specific user groups when communicating.

For example, I want to create a linked server technology where people like to talk Android and iOS. So I can create two roles, namely Android and iOS.

Using Carl Bot Discord, now I don’t have to manually assign roles to each user, I can allow users to choose their own roles.

That way, I can create a channel on the server that is only accessible to users with the assigned Android role. But I can also talk to all iOS role users without disturbing Android role users by using the @iOS tag.

How Reaction Roles Work

To let users choose their own roles, you need to create a Reaction roles message in the get-started channel.

Under this Reaction roles message, users will find emojis as shown in the image below.
